1. Who you are contracting with
IELTS-X is operated by Excelia Sdn Bhd, a company registered in Malaysia (registration number 202401038326). In this document "we" and "us" mean Excelia Sdn Bhd, and "you" means the person who holds the account.
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the Malaysian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
2. What the service is
IELTS-X is an IELTS practice service. Your account gives you:
- the practice library — full Listening, Reading and Writing material, with marking and review;
- an AI tutor you can chat with about any question you are working on;
- AI tutor Live, a spoken conversation with the tutor;
- AI writing grading — a band estimate and feedback on an essay you write;
- supporting study tools: vocabulary, notes and a study planner.
The AI features are a study aid. They are generated by language models and can be wrong. A band estimate from our AI is not a prediction of your real IELTS result, and nothing here is affiliated with or endorsed by the official IELTS test owners.
3. What you pay, and what you get for it
Subscription — USD 29.99 per month. A subscription gives you access to the practice library for as long as it is running, and a batch of credits each month. The size of each month's batch is shown to you before you pay.
Credits are what the metered features cost:
| Feature | Cost |
|---|---|
| AI tutor Live | 1 credit per minute, rounded up |
| AI writing grading | 1 credit per essay |
| Memory image | 1 credit per image |
| AI tutor chat (text) | Free |
| Translation and sentence-structure help | Free |
The free features are free, not metered — but they are rate-limited so that one account cannot generate unlimited traffic. If you reach a limit you are told so and can continue shortly afterwards.
Your credits never expire. This is true of every credit, however you got it — a subscription's monthly batch, a credit pack you bought, and the credits we give you when you sign up. Unspent credits roll over and stay on your account until you spend them, including after a subscription ends.
Because no credit expires, there is no order of spending that can cost you anything: every credit on your account is worth the same for as long as the account exists. (For the record, we spend the oldest ones first.)
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that may apply where you live.
4. Renewal, cancellation and refunds
A subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from your account.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end the current period: your access to the practice library runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, and then stops.
Your credits are not affected by cancelling. They do not expire, so whatever is left stays on your account and you can still spend it on the AI features after your library access has ended.
We do not give refunds for a period that has started, or for credits you have not spent. Because credits do not expire, credits you have paid for are not lost by waiting — but they are not money, and we do not convert them back into money. Please use the free trial to decide whether the service suits you before you subscribe.
If we withdraw the service entirely, we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
5. One account, one person
Your account is for you alone. You may not share it, sell access to it, or let anyone else use it. This is the one rule that most directly protects the price for everyone else, and it is enforced by the software, not just stated here:
- Only one device can be signed in at a time. When you sign in somewhere new, the device that was signed in before is signed out, and it is told that is what happened.
- A limited number of new devices per period. You may sign in from up to 3 different devices in any 30-day period. You are warned as you approach that limit. A device you have already used is never refused — only a new, previously unseen one — so you cannot be locked out of the devices you actually work on.
- Sessions last 30 days, and you can end every session everywhere from your account page at any time.
If these limits get in the way of honest use — you replaced a laptop, or you travel — contact us and we will help.
We may suspend or close an account that is being shared, or that is used to attack, scrape, resell or disrupt the service.
6. Your content
The essays, notes, vocabulary and conversations you create stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them in order to run the service for you — to mark your work, to let the tutor remember what you are working on, and to show your history back to you.
We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
7. Our content
The practice material, the site and the software are ours or our licensors'. You may use them for your own exam preparation. You may not copy, republish, resell or redistribute the practice material.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. What is deleted, and the few records we must keep, are set out in the Privacy Notice.
Deleting your account cancels your subscription immediately, so you are not charged again. In line with section 4 this is not a refund: the period you have already paid for is not returned to you, and the account and its access end at once rather than running to the end of that period. If you would rather keep your access until the period runs out, cancel the subscription first and delete the account later.
Deleting your account also ends any credits on it. Credits never expire, but they belong to the account; deleting the account is the one thing that does end them, they are not refunded, and they cannot be moved to another account. If you have credits you intend to use, spend them first.
9. Availability
We work to keep the service running but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. Maintenance, provider outages and faults happen. Our liability to you is limited, to the extent the law allows, to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem arose.
10. Changes
We may change these terms. If a change matters to you — price, what you get, or your rights — we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in, and the version you accepted is recorded against your account.
